Oh yes Andreas there is much behind this painting. Even though the male peacock has all the beauty in this piece I decided to make my peacock a woman. She is my Aunt who was a loving person but the darker side of her is the extreme materialism and self absorbed lady she was. Everything revolved around status, money, looking good. Even the face on this peacock is very close to how she actually looked in real time. I took care of her for the last few years of her life. She had dementia. To say it was a hard time doesn't say it enough. She always even to the end of her life thought people were out to get all her possessions. A very sad thing for a soul to only have lived for money, status and looking good. Hence the title It's All About Me. Thank you so much for your support and compliments of my artwork. When I first saw this painting, I thought "Oh how exciting and beautiful". But it would not be Carolyn, if there was not more behind it. It is just in the first moment! What happens when you look longer and more closely? Is the beauty only a first-glance illusion or is it lasting and real? A question that arises more and more often in our superficial and fast-moving times. You have made this quite wonderful artistic theme. Fabulous work! F

Thank you Constance for the L and compliment. This painting was created by observing a very self centered member of my family. In fact the peacock's face looks almost exactly like her. I didn't realize it at the time. But later I saw her in the painting. She was a very materialist person.
