Originally I was attempting to paint a mermaid, but it just wasn't working and then it happened. A woman emerging into her real self and a sail boat waiting to take her to freedom. In a way she is in a labor of the soul. It is not an easy thing to become an individual when society calls for us to adhere to certain rules, regulations, perceived beauty. This woman will walk her talk and be the person she was always meant to be........an artist. Isn't that beautiful!
With color and symbolism I paint personal issues, human issues. Transformation, enlightenment, pain, pleasure, life and death. I strive to portray the courage and growth it takes to move through the obstacles and triumphs of living on this earth. I started to paint at a very early age and found a way to express myself. My artwork is Expressionism. This is the way I have always communicated what is deeply personal to me. I reside in Oregon, on the coast. A beautiful place to communicate with nature, walk the beaches and be one with the Universe.

Thank you Stephen for the compliment. This originally was going to be a mermaid but it just didn't want to be. So I thought of a woman emerging into who she was meant to be and shedding off the old self. Then I added the sail boat which was a symbol of her freedom waiting to take her on many adventures.
